Sitland is an Italian manufacturer of office and contract seating, based in the Vicenza area of the Veneto region in north-eastern Italy. It produces task chairs, executive and conference seating, and modular and soft seating for offices and other professional interiors, with a focus on ergonomics and contemporary design. The company was founded in 1977, initially producing upholstery for the seats and sleeping cabins of trains in Italy. In 1982 it added seating for hairdressing salons, exported to several European countries, and in 1987 it moved into office chairs. A turning point came in 1996 with the launch of its Ouverture line, which marked the company's fuller shift toward office seating. From its base in the Vicenza area, Sitland developed a catalogue of office seating that has expanded over the years to include task chairs, executive and visitor seating, and modular systems. The company frames its work around ergonomics and Italian design, producing seating intended for workplace comfort and use across the working day. In 2018 Sitland was acquired by the Mezzalira Investment Group, an Italian group, placing it within a larger ownership structure while continuing to operate under the Sitland name. Its products remain focused on the office and contract seating market. Sitland's seating is used in offices and other professional environments and is sold through dealers and distributors internationally. As an Italian seating manufacturer that developed from upholstery into office chairs, Sitland combines Italian design with a focus on contract seating.
