Audo Copenhagen is a Danish design house that produces furniture, lighting and home accessories, based in Copenhagen. It was formed from the merger of two Danish brands, Menu and By Lassen, and presents their products together under one identity in a restrained Scandinavian style sometimes described as "soft minimalism." It serves residential, hospitality and contract interiors. The company was created by bringing together Menu and By Lassen. Menu traces its origins to 1978 (founded by Simon Hansen, originally under a different name) and grew into a Scandinavian design and lifestyle brand, while By Lassen was established in 2008 to reissue Danish design classics by the architect brothers Mogens and Flemming Lassen. Both brands came under the Design Holding group, and their merger into Audo Copenhagen was completed in 2023. The Audo Copenhagen name comes from The Audo, a building and showroom in Copenhagen that combines a showroom, workspace and hospitality space; it now serves as the company's base, known as Audo House. The company is led by Joachim Kornbek Engell-Hansen, a grandson of Menu's founder, continuing the family connection to the business. The company's range spans furniture, lighting and home accessories, combining contemporary design with reissued Danish classics inherited from its constituent brands. Its aesthetic emphasises simple forms, natural materials and a calm, minimal style across coordinated collections. Audo Copenhagen's products are used in homes, hospitality and other interiors and are sold internationally through design retailers, showrooms and online. As a Copenhagen-based design house formed from Menu and By Lassen and part of the Design Holding group, Audo Copenhagen combines Danish design heritage with a contemporary identity.
