Actiu is a Spanish furniture manufacturer that designs and produces office furniture and workplace furniture for corporate, contract, healthcare, educational and hospitality settings. The company operates under the legal name Actiu Berbegal y Formas, S.A. and is based in Castalla, in the province of Alicante. Its product range covers task and executive office chairs, multipurpose and meeting seating, desks and table systems, modular sofas and soft seating, acoustic booths and partitions, and storage and reception furniture. The company markets its work around the theme of workplace well-being, summarised in its motto "Feel Good. Work Better." The business traces its origins to 1968, when Vicente Berbegal began a small furniture venture in Castalla that started as a modest workshop producing custom pieces. The operation was formalised as Creaciones Berbegal around 1970. Over the following decades it moved into furniture for the emerging office and home-computing market, developing desking for personal computers in Spain during the 1990s. The Actiu brand name was adopted in 2000, marking a shift toward office furniture and international expansion. Among Actiu's better-known products is the TNK seating platform, an operational office chair line first introduced in its TNK 20 form in 2002 and certified for intensive, around-the-clock use. The line later expanded with executive versions such as the TNK 500. A related and widely recognised model is the TNK Flex, an ergonomic task chair developed with Alegre Design that features a flexible, adjustable backrest allowing tilt and twist movement; it received the Archiproducts Design Award in 2016 and a German Design Award. Beyond task seating, Actiu produces the Longo modular sofa system for collaborative and lounge areas, and acoustic products such as the QYOS booth, a freestanding pod intended to provide quieter focus space within open-plan offices. In terms of market and use, Actiu supplies furniture mainly for professional and contract environments rather than the residential retail market. Its products are specified for offices and corporate workplaces, as well as auditoriums, airports, education and healthcare facilities, and hospitality projects.
